I liken it [building a blog audience] to saving up for retirement. You can put a few bucks away, every single payday, and then with compounding interest that pot starts to grow and grow and grow. Until over time, all of a sudden you have something of significant value. A blog is very similar. Whenever I post, whenever I tweet, whenever I do a status update on Facebook… those are all pennies in the bank for me. I might not see those pennies today, but I’m saving them up.
